Fall Bridal Shower Invitation

I've been working with a bride on her bridal shower invitations.  This shower will not be a surprise, so the bride can have some say in what she wants! :)  A fall theme was in order and the shower will take place the beginning of November.  This bride loves vintage so I went to one of my favorite sites to access some vintage designs:

I settled on a beautiful wreath which worked for the theme I was striving for.  I used rubberstamps, some beautiful papers from Paper Source, and my own typography.  Here is the completed invitation.

I painted the ribbon gold, here is a close-up of that;

And then the inside of the card continued the thought;  Falling in Love........Is a Wonderful Thing!

I really love coming up with ideas and themes that are not the ordinary!

Planet Fitness and Invitations???

Planet Fitness is the gym I attend.  I have been trying to keep up a regular 2-3 times a week attendance.  Just recently I decided to reward myself with a new pair of shoes every month of regular attendance.  (DSW shoes is just a few stores down!!!)  I finished my first month and here are the cute shoes I bought.  I didn't realize what a great incentive this would be for me but I'm looking forward to my next pair!

 While I was working out at Planet Fitness I really noticed the color combination that they have there.  It's purple, yellow, and black.  Definitely not one of my favorite color combinations for cards and invitations!  I decided to try and come up with a fall invitation which included these colors.  I really struggled with it and for inspiration I took a picture of some flowers at my kitchen window that included those colors.

This helped because I love flowers and had a better idea of what I might come up with.  Here is the result:

I thought this invitation would be wonderful for any of those fall gatherings you might have at this time of year!  It's also a nice change from red, orange, brown, and yellow.

Ok, Ok......

Well, I am jumping in with both feet!  Over the past day and a half I have been encouraged twice to just GET STARTED on this blog!  Yup, I'm a perfectionist (although you wouldn't know it if you saw the state of my house and the state of my studio) but I AM a perfectionist.  In my creative world I keep working and working on something until I get it just right.  In other areas, I just don't start something until I know I can do it to perfection.  This blog is one of those areas.  So...... here I begin........ it will be a journey, lets see where it takes us!

 I love paper crafting,  I enjoy working with all elements of paper, and I enjoy learning new things!
